UFO Research Network Forum Rule's!!!
This is a place for open and free discussion on a wide range of topics, and we ask that you respect each other by not bullying or harassing other members of the forum.
This is not the place for personal attacks, or to deliberately stop the flow of conversation from taking place. Please; Do not Hijack threads with the same questions if a Moderator has already answered them; do not post irrelevant images or text in other people's topics for no reason other than disruption; do not make any personal insults or irrelevant one word answers. Do not spam “General” or "Today's News" with a bunch of new threads all in one session. Do not sign-up multiple user IDs for the purpose of trolling the forum or answering your own posts!
People are welcome to discuss issues surrounding race. Racist remarks will not be tolerated on this forum. Political stances can be discussed without resorting to racial stereo-typing and abusive remarks towards a race of people. Anybody trying to stir up racial hatred will be banned
Note: This applies to ALL races. Racism is NOT tolerated here.
Please be very careful about posting any personal information on this forum. We cannot be held responsible if you choose to post information which reveals your location, identity, or anything else which you may later regret divulging.
We advise that you keep details regarding your employer, your location and your friends/family vague, unless absolutely necessary.
Please do not at any time post your telephone number or postal address on the public forums without permission from the moderators. Do not ask other members on the forum for their personal contact information either.
We take privacy very seriously here, and anybody seen deliberately breaking this rule will be banned without warning.
Please do not post blatant advertisements, or try to promote health products or links to websites selling products that haven't been endorsed by this website.
Quoting Other Sources & Copyright
You may quote other sources, providing that you name the source before and/or after the quote has been made, and link back to the relevant website if possible. We cannot allow the posting of any copyrighted material.
Please do not quote whole chapters, or upload e-books, as that will be a direct violation of another person(s) copyright.
If there is something in particular you would like to post, but your not sure if it's acceptable - please contact a moderator who'll be able to approve or disapprove the material first. If there is no copyright attached to something, we'll probably be able to make an exception.
Report Post Feature
If you see a post you believe breaches any of our forum guidelines, please feel free to report the post to the Moderators, who will decide on what action (if any) needs to be taken. The icon for reporting posts is the exclamation mark within a red triangle below members your user name and avatar. Only signed-in members can use this function.
Starting New Threads
Member's starting new threads are required to include a description of the video's or links that they post, and your opinion/take on the subject matter.
This will inspire more discussion / research on the topic posted.
This rule applys to everyone including staff.
Failure to comply with this rule could result in a warning.
Avatars and Signatures
Any user using an unsuitable avatar or signature (unnecessarily brash, pornographic or insulting to other members), will be asked to remove it. A Moderator may remove an avatar and/or signature at any time if deemed necessary.
The Rant Room
Threads which are binned due to abusive, off topic or “petty” rants may be moved to 'The Rant Room'. This sub-forum is only accessible by registered members.
It is at the Moderators' discretion whether to delete or lock threads which have descended into rants or to move them to the Rant Room.
Anybody deliberately trying to derail a topic in order for it to be moved to the Rant Room will have restrictions placed on their account or be suspended from the forum. This is not an opportunity to hijack or trash somebody else’s thread.
Moderation, Complaints, and Disputes with regard to Moderation
The Administrators of the UFO Research Network website reserve the right to moderate this forum in anyway they see fit in situations that might arise that are not specifically mentioned in the above forum posting guidelines.
If you have a complaint against a Moderator, or you feel you have been unfairly treated after having attempted to resolve an issue with the Moderator involved, you are free to bring the matter to the attention of the Forum Manager who in this instance will act as an arbitrator to assist both parties to find a resolution they can both agree on. However before taking this course of action, we expect that members will try and resolve these issues with the Moderator involved as a first step. Serious complaints may be forwarded on to the Admin.
NOTE: When a dispute is brought to the attention of the Forum Manager and there is clear evidence that the forum guidelines have been breached, please don’t expect to find sympathy!
Discussing moderation and moderation decisions on the threads.
While we appreciate that everyone has an opinion, moderation issues may NOT be the topic of thread discussions, no matter how strongly you feel about what may or may not have happened to yourself or another poster. Very often other members are not aware of situations that have transpired if threads and posts have had to be deleted. The Moderation team is NOT at liberty to discuss such matters on the forum threads, and any such attempts to debate a moderator in this way will be swiftly dealt with and may result in infraction points if a poster continues to seek attention in this manner.
If you are genuinely concerned about ANY moderation decision, you may private message (PM) a Moderator for clarification, but you don’t have the right to demand private information that may have transpired between a Moderator and another member. We respect member privacy. If you have serious concerns and you feel you have not received a sufficient response from a Moderator, please feel free to PM the Forum Manager for further clarification.
Any member who feels they have the right to threaten, harass or otherwise intimidate Moderators (either on the forum threads or via PM) will find restrictions placed on their user accounts, or will be banned. The members of the moderation team on the UFO Research Forum are all volunteers who give of their time freely for the benefit of others. They did NOT sign on to put up with abuse. Please be respectful.
If you do not agree to comply with these guidelines, please do not apply for a forum account. Anybody repeatedly ignoring the guidelines or the advice of a Moderator will have restrictions placed on their account.
You will not Post any material that is knowingly Hoaxed, False, Misleading, or Inaccurate.
Any member that knowingly posts Hoax material on this forum could be Banned. You have been Warned!!!
These guidelines are in place for the sake of allowing other users to enjoy the forums without having to scroll through endless posts which spam threads and disrupt worthwhile communication from taking place.
If you need any help with regards to posting or have an inquiry about anything forum related, please contact a Moderator who will be happy to help.
It is our hope that you will enjoy being a member of our forum community.
